Mid Summer in Mississippi is a time for indoors and activities to remain cool. For many of us, it is a time for reflection. I found myself engulfed in one of these moody days. I collected music that fit the occasion and here are a few of those tunes.

This is a post where you can come to share what’s on your mind and stay for the conversation (and often music offered). The diarist is on independent time (a schedule of their own) and gets to take a nap when he or she needs (or may wander off and show up later).
Just to let you know, it’s a feature, not a bug.

Forty two years ago I was preparing for a day of hard work outdoors (in the same conditions as today) except then I was pondering the fate of my unborn son. What mid Summer woes would he have to survive?
Would he have war, deadly heat or poverty (as I had endured) when he anticipated a new son someday in his future?
My grandson graduates high school next year. My son works outdoors (as I still do) and I am certain he has concerns of he future life his child (and future children beyond) will face.
Sad songs for sad moments of reflection.
Reflective songs with slow melodies are not always indicative of depression. Some times a sad song is just enjoyed for the quality and presentation.
