Just how many diaries are we talking about that constitute the very top of the top, the most rarified of the thousands published every year? And what is the context within which they are measured? I did this once before, back in 2014 (the graphic vanished in the Great Purge of 2019, but it’s supposed to come back someday...), but I thought I’d try it again and see what the more recent numbers looked like. Graph data is at the bottom.
And who writes these wonders of wordsmithing? Once again I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the list. Below the fold is a list of the 49 authors of the top 59 (one tenth of one percent) most recommended diaries.
