Chuck Todd continues to show he is and likely will never be ready for prime time. He made a cardinal mistake on Meet The Press yet again. But was it a mistake or a designed comment?
Bill Daley appeared on meet the press to talk about President Obama and his TPP vote defeat last week. "In my opinion both for Democrats," said Bill Daley. "As the Republican House members in the late President Bush's term turned on him and weakened him, it hurt them in the general election in 2008. If the Democrats continue to do this sort of thing and especially on this issue and undercut the President, they are only shooting themselves in the foot. 'cause it is only going to weaken the party and whoever the nominee is of the party next year."
Chuck Todd fortuitously interjected, "So in that case Hillary Clinton."
Really? In other words the Democratic Primary is simply a formality in Chuck Todd's head.
A journalist would have followed up with Daley and asked why would it weaken a party if they do not support a policy most of the party is against. A journalist would have asked why would it weaken a party as opposed to strengthen it when citizens feel that finally their politicians are voting against a business centric policy that will likely cost hundreds of thousands if not millions of their jobs.
That would be too much to ask another shill of the American plutocracy. What everyone must remember is that Wall Street, the American plutocracy does not really care if any Republican or Hillary Clinton is president. For them it is a win either way. What they fear is the election of a real progressive. As such they lay the groundwork of inevitability for the candidates that they deem acceptable. Will Americans let that happen?
