One step forward, two steps back, does not mean we must stumble over the misstep.
I had to rewrite this diary after Friday’s bad news from the Supreme Court. I will not rehash the anguish that all of us has endured. I will instead direct my attentions toward the positive views of friends of mine.
Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
This is a post where you can come to share what’s on your mind and stay for the conversation (and often music offered). The diarist is on independent time (a schedule of their own) and gets to take a nap when he or she needs (or may wander off and show up later).
Just to let you know, it’s a feature, not a bug.

I want to show you a painting by a long time friend (and professional artist) Jere Allen. Here is a link to his “Wiki page”. en.wikipedia.org/…
Jere’s lovely wife Jojo heard I was interested in photographing birds. My wife sent her a few examples of my better shots. She emailed this recent image of Jere’s art in response.
The wife and I have only one of Jere’s pieces (given to her by her father). It is a treasure and we wish we had more (or could afford another). But, we have our friendship with these good folks and that is more than enough compensation.
Word got out among other artist friends of ours and another dear friend sent a sketch of her latest. Deborah Freeland has a great web page that can be found here: www.deborahfreeland.com
This was in the email my wife received.
It seems that our friends are focusing on things that give them pleasure and solace during these trying times.
.
I am privileged to live among and know so many talented people. I am surprised that any of them think my “dabbling” is worth noticing. Most days I feel like the nightly visitor to my garage. He and I understand our plight.
A little music to go with my mood.
Let’s carry on, be better Humans and strive for a positive future.
