“Thank goodness some SCOTUS precedents are overturned,” US Senator John Cornyn (R) of Texas tweets, trying to show what he meant when he compared the overturning of Roe v Wade to the Brown v Board of Education case that overturned the 1869 Plessy v Ferguson case and outlawed racial segregation in public schools.
Cornyn’s initial tweet, which responded to a tweet by former US president Barack Obama, has turned people’s heads, with some commentators suggesting that Cornyn wants to overturn the Brown case.
Still, John Cornyn is not the worst senator from Texas.
Not that the present-day GOP ever cared about women’s rights, anyway.
