Yeah, my personal website construction is about at the “How the project leader understood it” stage. But soon, soon, it’s going to look like customer billing.
Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
This is a post where you can come to share what’s on your mind and stay for the expansion. The diarist is on California time and gets to take a nap when he needs to, or may just wander off and show up again later. So you know, it's a feature, not a bug.
Grab your supportive indulgence(s) of choice and join us, please. And if you’re brand new to Morning Open Thread, then Hail and Well Met, new Friend.
Ya know, I’m not so sure how bad I want my driver’s license back if this is what’s out there waiting for me.
Just to be clear…
“Celar” is spelt wrong, it’s supposed to be “cellar”, and I wouldn’t know what I’m supposed to keep my cellar up to anyway. Wait, what? I don’t even HAVE a cellar. How the heck can I keep something I don’t have?
And I’m not sure what this means, but it probably ain’t good.

I think I’ll just go take a walk/bicycle. With the camera.
[Couple of hours later]:
Ay-yup. That worked.
Baby ducks, baby ducks!
Flaming Torch Lily; Genus Kniphofia
Giant Red Poppy
I’m feeling much better. Attitude adjustment:
In the Great Scheme of Things, I am that unforeseeable factor, the dust in the gears that guarantees unpredictability. Life is not a clockwork orrery, but rather a divergent multiple-body problem, a “sensitive dependence upon initial conditions”. Maybe I’m just the Lorenz Attractor.
Watch the whole video. The colors alone are totally worth it. (You can cut it off at the 11:40 mark if you want to skip the commercial.)
I just love this guy’s (Veritasium) channel. New stuff!
SCIENCE!
This works now:
