Oddly enough, this came from reading the comments of a recently banned user, who was absolute in their claim that the reason for not accepting ivermectin as a miracle cure was because we were all influenced too much by BIG PHARMA. (And because I now tend to look for grift more than I did before the Former Guy.)
Except, ivermectin (STROMECTOL) is a Merck product, so that hardly makes sense from any standpoint. Especially since the company is strongly refusing to promote it as even a prophylactic drug for Covid-19. Even the last “miracle drug,” hydroxycloroquine, was a product of Moderately Large Pharma.
But that doesn’t mean somebody doesn’t smell a profit lurking behind the scenes. And the longer the current pandemic goes on, the more time there will be to promote, and debunk, more possible ‘miracle’ drugs, and make a profit while they’re fashionable.
The question isn’t whether ivermectin works; the question is how long will it be until the next ‘miracle’ drug is in a position to influence stock trading. I’m going to be keeping an eye out around March of 2022, I think.
